This month’s local business spotlight features Chris Bell, owner and manager of Call To Arms Brewing Company. Founded in July 2015, Call To Arms was the result of a shared vision between Chris and his fellow founders, all of whom were working at Avery Brewing at the time. Having been in the industry since 2008, they decided it was time to branch out and create something of their own. After a year of planning, gathering equipment, and preparing for launch, they officially opened Call To Arms.
When asked how they chose the name, Chris explained, “Opening the brewery was our ‘call to arms.’” They all had secure, steady jobs, but their passion for brewing drove them to take the leap and bring their dream to life.

Big Holiday Energy & Denver Community Engagement
One of the standout aspects of Call To Arms is their commitment to over-the-top holiday decorations, especially during the winter season. Most of their large, immersive events began post-COVID, recognizing that people were craving meaningful experiences after being cooped up for so long. Chris, who grew up in NYC, was inspired by a wildly decorated Christmas bar he visited in his youth. That memory stuck with him, and ever since Call To Arms opened, he knew he wanted to create something just as magical. Over time, their “Big Holiday Energy” event has become one of Denver’s most sought-after experiences in December.
But their passion for celebrations doesn’t stop there. They go all out for Pride Month, which they’ve been honoring with vibrant decorations since 2019. Their Mardi Gras celebration has been a hit for nearly eight years, and they recently launched their first Oktoberfest event in the fall of 2024. Chris and his team are deeply committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and local causes, taking pride in the funds they raise each year through their Pride events. At its core, Call To Arms is dedicated to being a safe, inclusive, and fun space for everyone.

Call To Arms loves working closely with other small businesses in the area. They regularly host game show events, drag trivia, and bingo nights. We’ve even had the pleasure of hosting several client events at their brewery, including educational classes and puppy yoga! Their side room is the perfect rental space for special events, workshops, and celebrations.
