Local Business Spotlight: Pet Butler - Serving Pets, Supporting Families, and Honoring One Very Special Beagle

Company logo

One of my favorite parts of owning a business is getting to meet incredible people who genuinely care about making our community a better place. That's exactly how I met Sjeanne Cawdry and Dana Burkholder, through the DAMES - a wonderful community of women supporting women in business. From our very first conversation, it was clear that what they were building was about much more than pet waste removal. Their mission is simple: make life a little easier for pet owners while honoring the unconditional love our pets bring into our lives.

Together, Sjeanne and Dana own Pet Butler, proudly serving pet owners throughout Northern Denver by taking one more chore off their clients' plates so they can spend more time enjoying life with their furry family members.

What makes their business truly special isn't just the service they provide.

It's the story behind why they chose to start it.

Turning Heartbreak Into Purpose

Just three months before purchasing Pet Butler, Sjeanne and Dana experienced every pet owner's greatest heartbreak.

They lost Oliver, their beloved beagle of twelve years.

Anyone who has ever loved a pet understands that they're never "just a dog." They're family. They're our adventure buddies, our comfort after a hard day, and part of our everyday routines.

Rather than allowing that loss to define them, Sjeanne and Dana chose to honor Oliver in a beautiful way.

They purchased a Pet Butler franchise and dedicated themselves to serving other pet owners and the animals they love.

Today, every yard they visit serves as a reminder of why they started.

For Sjeanne, learning the pet care industry and helping families enjoy more quality time with their pets has become one of the most meaningful ways to carry Oliver's legacy forward.

Making Pet Ownership Easier

Let's be honest - cleaning up after our dogs probably isn't anyone's favorite part of pet ownership.

Thankfully, that's where Pet Butler comes in.

Their team provides professional pet waste removal services, helping homeowners maintain clean, sanitary yards without having to think twice about it.

Whether you have one dog or several, they take care of the dirty work so you can spend more time doing the things you actually enjoy - like playing fetch, taking walks, or simply relaxing outside with your pup.

It's one of those services you don't realize you need until you have it.

And once you do, you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Built on Excellence

Pet Butler has earned a reputation as one of the top-performing brands in the industry, and Sjeanne and Dana are committed to carrying that reputation forward here in Colorado.

Sjeanne describes herself as a problem solver with a strategic mindset and a constant drive to pursue excellence. Those qualities show up in every part of the business, from their dependable service to the way they care for every customer and every property they visit.

Their vision goes beyond simply cleaning yards.

They're building a business that creates opportunities, serves the community well, and gives pet owners one less thing to worry about.

More Than a Business

One thing I loved hearing from Sjeanne was how naturally her love for animals comes through. When she talks about dogs, it isn't just excitement. It's genuine love and appreciation for the joy they bring into our lives. That passion is what makes Pet Butler different. They're not just maintaining yards. They're helping create clean, safe outdoor spaces where pets can play, families can gather, and memories can be made.

That's a perspective you simply can't teach.

Building a New Life in Colorado

Originally from South Africa, Sjeanne is in the process of putting down roots here in Colorado while building both her business and her future alongside Dana.

She shared that homeownership has given her confidence throughout different stages of her life, and she's excited to continue building that future here.

I always love meeting business owners who are investing in the communities they call home, and it's clear Sjeanne and Dana are doing exactly that.

Sometimes the best investments aren't the biggest ones.

Sometimes they're the services that quietly make everyday life a little easier.
